Covent Garden - Big Hands?

These Big Hands have been cropping up all over the world, in various big cities... judging by the positioning (it's one that we know well), it must be photography-related, but how? And who?

Here they are in Covent Garden, well-known for hordes of tourists snapping photos of each other (usually next to the living statues), but according to a website they are also cropping up in Warsaw, Milan, Zurich and Paris!

From the positioning of the hands, I'd say they're holding something small - a compact camera, or a camera phone? Maybe one of those cool spy cameras :D Not my usual giant old SLR, that's for sure - but I'll be looking out for more news around it. After all, big hands don't appear in Covent Garden every day.
